Golf Certified Central Control Training (C3T) - Level 1

You’ll find out everything you need to know about effectively setting up and operating a Cirrus/ Nimbus II/Stratus II or Stratus LT for Windows Central Control System. Experts will guide you through start-up, map import, Flo-manager and the best methods for setting up programs and schedules. A certification examination for Level 1 will be administered at the end of class. This course requires that the user have a working knowledge of the Windows 98, 2000, or XP.

Golf Certified Central Control Training (C3T) - Level 2

This two day course will walk you through key points in the start-up process, effectively integrating Flo-Manager and databases for importing and establishing maps. This class will also cover troubleshooting techniques, and incorporation of “smart” features into programs and schedules. A certification examination for Level II will be administered at the end of class. Prerequisite: Passing grade on the certification examination for Level I C3T.

Golf Certified Central Control Training (C3T) - Level 3

This course is designed to support the growth and development of the most advanced users. This level will help users capitalize on the full capability of their irrigation control systems as well as integration of their pump station, weather station, and other control-driven devices. The class will also spend time teaching high-level problem analysis troubleshooting and error correction. A certification examination for Level III will be administered at the end of class. Prerequisite: Passing grade on the certification examination for Golf Central Control Level II.

Golf Irrigation Technician Course (GITC) - Level 1

Level I Training introduces the participant to the basics of Golf Course Irrigation. This course includes:

Hydraulic Fundamentals: Learn the basics of hydraulics as it applies to an irrigation system. Calculate friction losses within pipes and fittings. Conduct exercises determining static and dynamic pressures.
Valves: Identify the common components found in irrigation valves. Illustrate the flow of water through a valve. Conduct hands-on exercise in the disassembly/assembly of several Rain Bird golf irrigation valves. Identify common valve problems and troubleshooting techniques.
Rotors: Identify the types of rotors used on golf courses and illustrate the flow of water through a rotor. Conduct hands-on exercise in the disassembly/ assembly of several EAGLE golf rotors. Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on an EAGLE golf rotor.
Electrical Fundamentals: Learn the terminology used when working around electricity. State the comparisons used between water and electricity. Demonstrate the proper operation of a multi-meter. Conduct hands-on exercises performing voltage and
resistance measurements on several different golf components such as solenoids, transformers, satellite controllers, and field interface devices.
Tools & Techniques: Review the basics of troubleshooting. Conduct hands-on exercises learning how to strip communication and controller wire. Perform a DBY and/or DBR splice. Become familiar with the operation of advanced tools used to troubleshoot golf irrigation systems. Conduct hands-on exercises demonstrating the proper operation of a wire/valve locator.

Golf Irrigation Technician Course (GITC) - Level 2

Level II Training offers advanced instruction to more experienced personnel dealing with installation, troubleshooting and repair issues. This course includes:

Satellite Controllers – 4 Hours: Review the functionality of golf course satellite controllers. Conduct hands-on exercises setting up and programming controllers. Conduct hands-on exercises performing in-depth diagnostics and troubleshooting on satellite controllers.
Decoders: Learn the basics of a decoder based system, covering components, programming, and troubleshooting decoder systems.
Sensors: Discuss the different types of sensors utilized with golf course irrigation systems. Analyze pulse sensor vs. static sensors. Review features/functionality of a WS-PRO2 Weather Station.
Grounding & Surge Protection: Examine how surges are produced. Identify the components of a typical golf course irrigation grounding system. Identify the types of grounding grids used in surge protection. Conduct hands-on exercises dealing with grounding and surge protection matters, such as performing a CAD-Weld operation and conducting earth resistance measurements utilizing an Earth Ground Resistance Tester.
Advanced Tools & Techniques: Review the operation of advanced tools used to troubleshoot golf irrigation systems. Learn additional techniques conducting hands-on exercises demonstrating the proper operation of a wire locator as well as demonstrating the proper operation in pinpointing ground faults.

Aerators & Fountains

Learn to efficiently reduce costs and expenses associated with ecologically out of balance water sources. This class will cover proper application, installation, and troubleshooting of Rain Bird’s Lake Management Aerators. This course covers the LM and LMM Series.

Golf Weather Software/ Rain Bird Messenger

Take advantage of Rain Bird’s most sophisticated weather information and messaging software yet. This four-hour class provides the overview you need to best use Smart Weather for tracking evapotranspiration (ET) rates and other sensory information in order to conserve water/reduce irrigation costs. You will even learn how to operate Hyper Terminal software to handle advanced troubleshooting on the spot. This class will also teach you the basics for setup of Messenger to send emails, text messages, and pages to various devices. In addition, this class will cover the correct setup and configuration of Rain Bird Messenger to control wireless rotors. Discover the ease of setup and management of Rain Bird Messenger.

Golf Decoders
8 Hours $400 (8000 Rewards Points)
The first part of the class will walk you through effective design, setup, and installation of a decoder system. You will examine several software packages that support decoder systems. Decoder system equipment and   troubleshooting tools will be examined and discussed. The second part of the class will cover advanced troubleshooting techniques using a simple decoder system setup for hands-on operation and troubleshooting.
Students will learn to set up and operate a simple central control decoder system using various decoder system components.

Golf FREEDOM

Maintain complete control of irrigation management no matter where you are! This course introduces the fundamentals of operating and troubleshooting all components of The FREEDOM System. Discover what’s needed for an effective site survey. You’ll also learn about programming radios, obtaining licensing and troubleshooting to maintain direct access to your Rain Bird Central Control system.

Golf Pump Station Service and Troubleshooting
4 Hours $250 (5000 Rewards Points)
This 4-hour course will give you the skills to diagnose pump station problems, learn proper operation, and set-up a pump station for optimum performance. Learn about the hardware, software, and design methodologies used  in Rain Bird Pump Stations and how to apply this knowledge in the field. Become familiar with the Operator Interface and how to extract data from it in a hands-on environment. Learn how to interface with a Rain Bird central control via Pump Manager for the ultimate in system control. Other training recommended to be taken in conjunction with this class include: 176/196 - Golf Smart Pump/Pump Manager.

EAGLEGolf Rotor Troubleshooting
4 Hours $250 (5000 Rewards Points)
Become familiar with the latest rotor troubleshooting tools that Rain Bird has developed. The information in this course will help minimize the down time if a rotor fails by utilizing troubleshooting flowcharts to determine the root cause of the failure quickly and accurately so the rotor can be repaired and brought back on line. The course also addresses how to efficiently communicate pertinent rotor information to Rain Bird, should that become   necessary. This course is designed  with the Irrigation Technician in mind.

Golf Site Survey
4 Hours $250 (5000 Rewards Points)
This half-day class will teach the basics of link theory as used in Rain Bird Golf Central Control systems. Equipment differences between Link and 2-wire systems will be presented as part of this class. Site surveys will be covered as well as MRLK installation and setup. Licensing issues will be explored and the key steps to conducting an effective site survey will be covered. Participants in this class should have some experience with
Golf Central Control systems, and especially with 2-wire systems.

Golf Smart Pump/ Pump Manager
4 Hours $250 (5000 Rewards Points)
This 4-hour course will give you the skills to truly optimize your irrigation cycle, prevent pump station downtime, and ultimately improve system efficiency. Learn about alarm functions, controlling the irrigation cycle based on calculated overflow or underflow conditions, and setting the powerful automatic shut down feature in extreme overflow conditions to prevent damage.

Golf Standalone and Two-Wire Systems

Gain a competitive advantage with the precision control of Rain Bird’s Standalone and Two-Wire satellite controllers. This 4-hour class will provide the solid overview you need for basic operation and effective troubleshooting for our most popular satellites, PAR+, MSC+ and PAR+ES. Golf Wireless Rotors

Golf Wireless Systems

This half-day class will teach troubleshooting of Rain Bird Golf Central Control Link radio systems. The course will include operational theory, link equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting of the systems. Topics will include licensing, differences between link and 2-wire systems, link equipment overview, antennas and link diagnostics. Participants should have experience with Rain Bird 2-wire central control systems.
