Robust, flexible header installs in minutes instead of hours, eliminates the need to cut and assemble dripline headers onsite with PVC, fittings, adapters, tape and glue
AZUSA, CA (Oct. 1, 2015) – Rain Bird has introduced a significant innovation to speed the installation of drip irrigation systems – new Rain Bird® QF Dripline Header. QF Header saves a significant amount of time and money and reduces hassles by eliminating the need to build a PVC header. It allows for much faster and more precise installations of both on-surface and sub-surface dripline grids.
QF Dripline Header’s patent-pending design features robust pre-installed fittings (compatible with any manufacturer’s 16-17mm dripline) that rotate 360° and incorporate a protective ring to prevent barb damage and ensure a proper seal. Available in 100’ self-dispensing coils of ¾” or 1” tubing and with fitting spacing of either 12” or 18”, the flexibility of the QF Header makes it ideal for smaller planter beds and landscape designs that include sharp curves. The precise spacing of the fittings ensures that the dripline grid is uniform which is critical to efficient watering.
"Compared to a site-built header constructed of PVC pipe, fittings, tape and glue, the time savings are significant,” said Chuck Kunze, Rain Bird product manager. “Based on time-motion studies of accomplished irrigation industry workers, each 100 foot coil of QF Dripline Header represents 3 ½ hours of labor savings. Simply roll out and make one cut to length – no more measuring, gluing or taping required."
The flexibility of the QF Header makes it easy to roll into place and stake down – even with curved landscape features. QF Header can be used as either a supply or exhaust header and connects to the zone using standard ¾” and 1” compression fittings, lock fittings and insert fittings with clamps.
