Contest attracted nearly 1,500 entries, saved over 215 million gallons of water
TUCSON, Ariz. (October 29, 2013) In July, Rain Bird kicked off Project PRS, an initiative that encouraged irrigation professionals to install pressure-regulating irrigation system components to help their clients use less water. Participating contractors could then enter a special Project PRS contest, sharing data about the sites where they installed these components.
On Thursday, November 7, 2013, Rain Bird will announce the Project PRS grand prize winner at the Irrigation Show in Austin, Texas. The announcement will take place at 11:45 AM at the Rain Bird booth, #1521. Members of the media and all other Irrigation Show participants are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Throughout Project PRS, contractors could visit a special website, www.rainbird.com/prs, to enter the contest and get useful tools and information about pressure regulation. The site included videos, a Twitter feed featuring tweets with the hashtag #ProjectPRS, water-savings calculators and site reports. Every other week, Rain Bird announced a winner based on water savings who received a $500 credit valid for use at their local Rain Bird distributor.
“We're very pleased with the way that contractors embraced the spirit of Project PRS,” said Shannon Geno, product manager for Rain Bird rotors. “We received nearly 1,500 entries from contractors all across the United States who reported saving an amazing total of 215,485,448 gallons of water since July 1, 2013. These contractors are not only helping their customers—they’re also helping illustrate the important fact that pressure-regulating sprays and rotors can save huge amounts of water over time.”
