Broadcast TV Public Service Announcements Renew Calls For Outdoor Water Conservation This Summer While Providing Homeowners With Timely Water-Saving Tips For The Lawn And Garden
AZUSA, CA (April 28, 2008) - Rain Bird and The American Public Gardens Association (APGA) have teamed up with Roger Cook, landscape contractor for PBS’s This Old House and Ask This Old House, for a series of broadcast television public service announcements (PSAs) to raise awareness of the need to use water more efficiently in the lawn and garden this summer. Each of the non-commercial video PSAs offer simple and easy to execute water-efficient tips to help homeowners keep their landscape areas healthy and beautiful during a summer that is expected to include record high temperatures and dry conditions across much of the United States.
Shot on location at the Historic Bok Sanctuary in Lake Wales, Florida, all three of the broadcast TV PSAs are not dated and intended to play anywhere and anytime over the spring and summer months. The PSAs are available free of charge in broadcast quality BetaSP video format to those interested in communicating this important message to their audiences.
“The demands on our supply of water increase every year and the challenge is to learn how to use water more wisely both inside and outside the home,” said Cook. “PSAs, such as these, that deliver practical tips and methods for reducing water use in the lawn and garden are an essential tool for keeping this important issue top of mind among today’s homeowners.”
Each PSA addresses different aspects of outdoor water conservation, including when and how much to water the lawn and garden, tips on preventing run-off, drip irrigation and more.
